This is a group that likes to have fun. Weekly with our kids, monthly just with the dads and every couple of months with the whole family.
Weekly Playgroups
We have playgroups every week. Each week a different volunteer dad chooses when and where we will meet so our times and places vary. In the summer we go out to parks. In the winter we meet in homes or in indoor play areas. We've gone to the Science Center, the Blank Zoo, Living History Farms for Halloween, and the Recess in Ankeny. In addition, dads will let each other know when we are heading out somewhere in case someone wants to pickup and join us. We have 5-12 dads at each event.
Monthly Dad's Nights
Every month we have a dad's night out just for dads. We gather at around 8pm so we can help get our kids tucked away. We go bowling, play poker, go to sports bars, whatever sounds like a good time.
All Family Events
Every few months we have events for the whole family. We have had parties in homes and outings in the park. It is nice for the spouses to get to meet everyone.
